Dear All
As we all know , Shutters of camera as mechnical life ( like 50k or 100k ). My question to experts is , is there any specified life time of a sensor , may be in terms of actuations or years of service
all comments are welcome
Harshad

Harshad, sensor (like any other electronic chip) goes under electrical stress every time it is powered up and operated, this stress in very long term causes defects and other reliability issues in the silicon material. But you should not worry about this at all, under normal circumstances this takes more than the usable lifetime of the camera to happen. I can imagine some issues after 5+ years of continuous usage but the shutter is almost guaranteed to fail first. Of course there are exceptions, sensor failure is possible but not very probable.
FLASH memory used in the CF cards is more likely to fail than the sensor, typical endurance for FLASH memory is 100,000 cycles and 10 years of continuous data retention, that said I had one Lexar CF card fail on me once in about 40+ CF cards that I have owned, so again low probability.
I will reply to your other PM tomorrow, I have to work until late tonight :(
Best,
