I used various blending modes and finished the editing with Viveza2.

Barbara, Looks like spring! Very creative texture work. Nice blending. The Vivesa really brought out some rich colors in the Daffs.
Thanks, Denise. Actually it was the USM 20/50/0 that gave the flowers some pop - in addition to varying the opacities of some of the layers. The Viveza was used to darken the border and the stems, which were kind of irregular and ugly and didn't want to call attention to them. ;)
I like this image and the thought of spring Barbara. Love the yellow colour palette, but find the stems a little out of place in terms of the rest of the image. Otherwise quite lovely. Love the musical sheet BG.
The music sheet and the texture overlay makes a beautiful background, Barbara. Like the way you've framed it too. The gorgeous yellow daffs certainly are a bright herald to spring. The colors are a stimulation to the eye following the muted tones of the last challenge. We're just into autumn/fall downunder.:)

It really is beautiful as presented, Barbara, but I do kind of see Jackie's point about the stems - they feel just a bit darker and harder than they have to be. It certainly isn't a deal breaker but if you could soften them a bit I think it would totally take this over the top.
Well, they really weren't too lovely, but I made an adjustment and did a bit of cloning. Hope this is better. They are dark anyway and textures that are 'grungy' are going to affect the rest of the image a bit.
Barbara, I know it's a subtle change but I think it helped - they appear more green than "dark" now. Lovely image you created - I can't wait for my daffys to bloom!!!

Beautiful image, Barbara! Love the bright yellows(my favorite color! :)), and awesome texture work. Subtle change in the repost, but it makes a big improvement. Well done!
