I have been to his galleries in Las Vegas and in Australia - absolutely worth a visit!
Jay,
I have a card I picked up: Ken Duncan Gallery in Sydney, at 73 George street, and on the back I wrote:
Peter Lik photography, Australia, 6x17 panoramics.
They were stunning.
Does Peter have his own gallery in Australia, or is this the one you were talking about?

Hi Roger, Peter has a gallery in Noosa - a very upmarket area on the coast North of Brisbane.
I love his work; one of the websites (http://www.peterlik.com/) - like yours :D - that I regularly look to for inspiration.
Peter Lik's work was brought to my attention last summer. I happened to be going to Aspen the next week so I visited his gallery there. I know that he has many galleries (4 in Las Vegas alone). It was very interesting. Compositionally, his work is pleasant to the eye. Nothing earth shattering. Nothing pushing the limits of creativity. He simply puts in his time visiting the greatest scenes in this country with the right lighting conditions.
His final product is another story. I have never, ever, ever seen prints as good as his. The colors are vibrant to the point of liquid (whatever that means, that just came out as I typed). His printing process far surpasses any gallery I've been to. At the gallery, they took me into a back room and showed me a print. Nice scene, nothing special though. And slowly dimmed the lights. With the lights completely turned off, I could still see the print, but in a way that I can't quite put into words. Something on the print is retaining light. So all in all, I'd say he's very good landscape photographer (with many his equal or better) and an astounding marketer and printer.

Micheal thank you for the video links. When I was visiting his gallery in La Jolla the salesman was telling me that he has a tv show coming soon.
As far as my thoughts I agree that he is an excellent print maker and marketer. However, for my personal tastes his photos are too saturated and closely resemble many of the extreme HDR photos that are far from natural looking (which I usually don't like). Despite this I thought his gallery was very interesting and a good learning experience.
