Abstract - degree of seperation!

I thought I will try something different with abstract... this image is from last summer of a skimmer family I had been tracking. As the fledgling grew up, it used to go out circling the pond with their parents in pursuit. This was one of the moment when the fledgling suddenly banked and I had this unusual angle. I converted the original to b&w, replaced the water color, added a layer mask to just open up the colored bills and finally applied USM. Hope you like it... your C&C will be appreciated.

Wonderful capture, Indranil. The perspective is stunning. The tiny bit of selective coloring in the BW conversion is perfect. Also love the leading line of the refelection. Have never seen one of these birds. The wing span seems enormous! Kora

Indranil, Definitely different. I like the composition and the way you have merged the two Skimmers. I might like the one head to be a bit clearer. Nice work.:)

Hi Denise, I did not merge the skimmers; this is as photographed. Here is a repost with better head definition of the one in the front.

Won't comment on H.A. :D Sometimes it works better without it. ;)

Indranil, I like the repost better. I really like the perspective and the ripples in the water. How neat to get to
