In that area north of I-75, on the way to Dinner Island Preserve, last year there were a lot of them nesting out there. Maybe the same sets returning.
Saw one today in FT Myers.
We are in business :)
They showed up at Gatorland yesterday (2/26) late afternoon as well. Saw three flying around our south swamp this morning!
An evil friend down there (Florida) sent me an image >2 weeks ago of a flock of swallow-tailed kites. About 75 in the image and who knows how many surrounding it. And I get to shovel snow, there is no justice!
UPDATE: STK been seen at Anhinga Trail. I saw one yesterday about 6:00pm, but I was in car and lens was in trunk. Doh!
Driving from the airport in Orlando to my hotel saw my first swallow-tailed Kite. then Sat and Sunday they were near Gatorland
