I've seen some of the blurs Denise, Artie and others have done in here and decided to try my hand at it. After a great afternoon at Bosque del Apache, the sun had gone down, hundreds of Sandhill Cranes were flyig back to water from the surrounding fields. I really like the colors on this one.

Could this really be Paul Lagasi?!!! :) Glad you are back. I love the amount of blur here and the wings look lovely. Maybe a small amount of NR.

Very nice blur effect. And the colors are amazing, the birds almost appear to be glowing.

I like the juxtaposition and the blur but not the blue. Best to strive to get the head a bit sharper--that is done with a perfect panning rate that matches the bird's flight speed; easier said than done. :)

But still too blue on the bird's wing so desaturated the BLUEs and the CYANs. Much better I think.

Love the image - original colors and repost. I like the original because it reminds me of all the stories I hear of how cold it is at Bosque, but Artie's repost has a very nice late evening glow about it that is very appealing.
The intent look on the birds' faces makes me think they are in a race. Very cool capture!
What is the Robert O'Toole Average Blur Color Balance trick ??:)

Lovely image, Paul. I like both versions as well. The blue really gives it a chilly feel while the gray gives it a more ghostly nuance. Agree with Artie that the heads are a bit blurry but I do love the overall image.
