Still just "frackin' around!
Sometimes, I turn the background flashes off in my multi-flash setups. I know most people don't like the black background but I kinda like them at times. It really sets off the main subject which is the hummer and flower in this image. Beside, my wife likes them and she's the boss!!

Gerry, I love the Fractalius work here. Nice looking pose on the Hummer-wish the flower was more in the scene. The black BG is awesome.

I like the clean lines of the fract. Did you clean up the edges? I like the little catch light in the bird's eye. Adds a little more punch to a vibrant post process. K

Gerry, there's one spot that is a bit gray on the top of his breast - might try blending that just a little so it fits with the rest of that part of his body. You don't need anything pulling the attention away from that beautiful red neck.

Thank you, Kora. I didn't clean up the edges. I thought they looked ok. Using multi-flashes, there is never a problem with catch lights! The problem is deciding which one to keep and cloning out the others!

Love almost everything about this--especially the black BKGR--but am confused as to why nobody suggested that you should have pointed your lens about 1/2 inch to your right as there is too much room behind the bird and part of the flower is clipped by the right frame-edge.
