I had been playing around with some daisy macros that I photographed last weekend when I came up with this one. I used a bi-color filter from Nik's Color Efex and then added an ethereal glow action over the top of that.
So what do you think? Too soft? Too faded? Just right? I'm really interested to see how everyone feels about this one. I have been waivering back and forth...
Original settings were 40D, 100mm macro + extension tubes, f4 @ 1/60th, ISO 400, natural overcast light.

Just a beginner but a bit off left and add a bit on right still 10 out of 10

Hey Jules, this is really nice. Great color transition. Can you post one with a bit more contrast for a comparison?

Jules, I love the color and the softness is just right for me. I would take a bit off the top if it were mine. Lovely!!!:)

My favourite colour palette Jules (purples). Don't find it too soft or faded. Quite a beautiful image.

Nice image and application, Jules.
Like it's softness as is, with maybe some added canvas on the right. But ... Your image ... Your vision.
In looking at it I wondered what else it could be. I darkened it and added vibrance and got an interesting color patter, then doing a Polar Coordinate, I got the attached. Send it for your enjoyment. Not to say that what you did was wrong, for it is a good image and treatment. But ... ;) :D
Mark, I'd have to rename it "Petal in a Whirlpool"! I love it...thanks!
I do see that I need to readjust a bit - taking a little from the left and adding a bit to the right. You all sure are conventional when it comes to ROT's! ;):D;)
Thanks for the comments...this will really help me finalize the image.

Stunning composition and the softest of pastels make this one a winner. I may put the copyright on the upper left and make a little lighter.

Looks very nice to me, Jules. :) Beautiful colors and softness. Not sure, but I might tone down the bright spots on the in-focus petal just a little bit.

Beautiful. Love the softness and the pastel colors. It has a wonderful three-dimensional quality. I'm not keen on the texture which may have created the bright spots Christopher mentions. I would try a smooth look to go with the soft colors and soft focus. :) Lovely work.
