Hello everybody.
I've notice that when a camera is for sale the vendor gives an figure of the image that the camera has made, how can that be done? I have a 30D and would like to know how many pictures I have taken, can somebody give me a light on this?

Not sure either Juan. Isn't it just when you download your images, and you go with the first four numbers???? I think I am up to around 7000 in my 40D. This is just a guess though.
I believe it's in the EXIF information. Field should be File number or something to that effect.

As far as I know this works only with slightly older camera models but you could try this: Go to PS > File > File Info > Advanced > http://ns.adobe.com/exif/1.0/aux and then click the triangle, there should be one line 'ImageNumber'. If it is not '0', this should be the real number.
dowload this free, take a photo and open it in this, this will tell you everything and how mny photos the camera has taken,

Scott, does this work with 1D Mark III files? From what I have read, you have to send it to Canon to get the exact number.Quote:

FWIW I have been using this program for years and sing it praises.
I don't think PhotoMe or any other software will reveal the number of shutter activations on newer Canon cameras. Canon service can retrieve this information directly from the camera, but as far as I know the information is not included anywhere in the meta data of an image recorded on more recent Canon cameras.

there use to be one called canon count but i think it only worked on 1d series up but not including the mk3.

Nikon swears the information you can get on shutter count from PS or Opanda is inaccurate, but I've not seen any reason to believe them.
