Believe it or not the sun is actually out at my house today - it's the first time I've seen it in over two weeks because of heavy fog and very overcast skies. I was working on this image when the clouds broke through so I solarized it in celebration of the real thing!
Slight crop, then a solarization filter from Nik's Color Efex. Slight tweak in contrast and levels and a little bit of cloning to tidy it up. I had to reduce the file size quite a bit to fit within the BPN guidelines.

Cool looking Jules! You got some mileage out of those Gerberas. The solarization treatment really makes it pop. I also like the tonal range. Nice comp. as well.

You're really working those flowers, Jules. That's great. I stopped in and looked for some today but I'm just feeling so darned depressed that nothing looked good to me so I came out empty-handed.
Love the way the center just explodes of the page.

Ed, I know how you feel. I went outside off and on all day to catch a few of the rays before it melted back into the clouds. January - February have got to be the hardest months for most photographers - even if you love snowy landscapes it's still hard to get psyched up to go out and photograph them!
