I did a poster edges filter and then added a fractalius effect. I masked back in some detail.

Denise - this looks great - I like the greens and blues and the detail in the eye. What is he sitting on?
Thanks Cheryl, It's like a hollowed out tree trunk.
Another real winner, Denise! The colors add a whole other dimension to this. It's so cool how your imagination adds in what isn't there. :D
Very cool, Denise. Looks even better than anhingas in the buff! You are the queen of Fractilius that's for certain!
Denise, This is really great. You made this look wild. I like the glow amount and the preening pose. But what I like the most is that eye. I also really like the background and the way it just stands out.
Yes, pretty darned cool. The perch looks as if it is spinning. I love the back half of the bird with the dark greens and purples better than the front half, especially what looks like backlight (as that area is too bright): unusually light or dark areas tend to draw the viewer's eye and that's what the white neck and breast does to me.
As far as the original capture, I wish only that the tip of the bird's bill was on the same plane as the eye rather than slightly angled away. All in all your are indeed the Fracting Queen :)
Thank you everyone I appreciate the feedback.
Artie, I will tone down the whites on the back -can't do much about the heads angle though:)
Really awesome effect!
