When I went to Banff I stayed at the Post Hotel. It was so cozy w/ a beautiful fireplace. I took a picture of one of the cabins and added the fractalius filter to it. I used my soft fix preset that I created within the program.

Hi Denise, It looks like a very cozy cabin! :) I love the colors and effect.
I love the look and feel of this image. I'd like to ask if you used a mask in the chimney area to reduce the filter effect just a bit. It almost has a lensbaby look only much better. The stones in that area seem to be sharper than the rest of the shot. I think it's great.
Thanks Christopher.
Dave, Thanks, I masked back in some details throughout the image where I thought would look good and yes the chimney was one of the areas. Sorry, I should have stated that in the post. I forgot.
I love the colors and the softness. What a beautiful place - would love to stay there! Wonderful effects.
INTERESTING ... Denise!
I don't know if it is me or the image. But given the rest of the viewers comments, I have to presume it is me!
I am unable to view it, as my eyes keep zooming in and out when I try!!! It looks like a 3D image without glasses! I knew my vision was getting worse, with age, but ... this is something else!
I like the base, but can't say I would put the image on the wall. The few friends that visit we want to keep! :D
No offense, but it is very weird to view from this end.
Hi Denise, I really like how you conceptualized the overall image and the mood. Great colors and effect... almost like an illustration from fairytale book. Beautiful work.
Very nicely done....looks like a dream image...TFS
Thank you all for your comments.
Mark, I do disagree but I appreciate you taking the time to comment.:D
Indranil, I couldn't put my finger on it but yes-it does look like an illustration.
Paul, It was a dream place for me. Canada is beautiful and I can't wait to return.

Sorry Denise. I can only see what I can't see. I like the image, but the effect is a little too much for "my eyes" to take in. Others see what they see ... ;)
Looking at it this morning I get the same dizzy feeling. But ... you know the saying! :D
Mark, We both have completely different visions and that's okay.:)
Wow, you are getting good at this stuff. I love this one. Not only would I hang it on my wall I would love to be inside that cabin. You have given the cabin a mysterious magical look. I might actually try a version with the fireplace a bit softer. And the COMP is loverly. My only wish is that there were a few more trees to block out the mild expanse of white sky.
Artie, I agree w/ you regarding the sky. These cabins are just so cute and cozy. The nights get cold there and the fireplaces are fantastic!
