This could be a theme image, but may not look 'old' enough. I wanted to use this text or similar on this textured rose image and wanted some feedback and suggestions on this particular outcome. Each section of text is on it's separate layer so I can rotate &/or move around if I want.

Barbara, I added the weekly theme to this as it does qualify. This has a lovely look as presented. I did run into a couple of words that I could not make out right away, but I did manage to read them fairly easily.
Another option would be to make the words blend more into the BG and be barely visible as almost a subliminal message. That's the nice thing about an image like this it could be presented in so many ways. I just love the BG texture and color. As for the rose-well it looks perfect! It was a good idea to put the text on multiple layers. Nicely done.

Thanks, Denise. I thought about using a 'smear' technique or somehow adjust the opacity of some of the text so that it didn't appear that people 'had to read every word' kind of thing. Perhaps I can combine all the text into a set so they are treated 'as one' and then paint off randomly at a slightly reduced opacity? First time with text like this, so I appreciate the feedback. I was playing with texture of music sheets yesterday and have a couple of versions of that too. The title then would have been 'Love Song.' ;)

Barbara, I'm interested in seeing the sheet music version also. These textures and layers are so fun to play around with. :)Nice work.

Here's a re-edit of the text. Better? I'll finish working on the sheet music one tomorrow. Oh wait... it's already tomorrow! Guess I should go get some sleep.

I like both of these! The rose is beautiful and the texture really looks great. The only thing I would change is to not hyphenate "rejoice".

Barbara, I like them both but I am leaning toward the repost. For me the words are secondary to the rose and it feels a bit more natural w/ the aging applied.

Well, first, the image is beautiful. Subtle, soft, beautiful color palette...just wonderful to sit and look at. I prefer the words in the first post though because I can read every word (and this is one of my favorite verses!) In the second post I feel the words are erased a bit too much because it feels like some of the color in the BG went with them and that doesn't look "natural" to me. Just my two cents worth. I vote #1.

Lovely image, Barbara. I like the repost better though both versions are very good. Beautiful colors and rose. The BG texture is stunning! I can't wait to see the sheet music version too! :)

Great feedback everyone. Thanks Denise, Jules, Patti and Christopher. The repost had some Topaz applied, which I should have mentioned, so that is what affected the exposure of the BG. I grouped the text layers into a group and air brushed across the group mask. I'll do some more tweaking and will decide whether to keep the Topaz version or return to the original. The original has a better transition from dark to light...
Many thanks!

Here is the further tweaked version. :)
I tried to strike a balance with the text opacity and worked on the balance of light in the image and did forego the Topaz adjustment. Several Viveza control points were used. I hope the text is a bit more 'readable' but at the same time 'weathered.' I like this one the best. Thanks for all the sets of eyes who offered the feedback!

I find both images very pleasing, and find myself just letting myself travel around each one enjoying all the subtleties. Thanks for sharing.

Barbara, they are all beautiful but I think I like the second the best because the rose has a glow that seems
to be missing in the other ones. That being said - I'd love to have created any of them:D

Thanks Dave; Cheryl, I noticed the lack of glow too and applied it in my saved version. Thanks for your feedback!:)
