Turkeys

This is a picture of a few of the turkeys I raise every year. I converted the image to tritone, added a vignette, and applied a cloud overlay and a crumpled paper texture that I created using this link. Any comments and suggestions would be most appreciated!

Hey Chris, nice to see your face! Wow, you're younger than I imagined you!

I love this image. It's a little flat in contrast but I think that's what I love about it...it really does look faded and aged. The turkeys are too darn cute. In a perfect world you'd have a little more separation between the first two on the left (so it doesn't look like the one is going to peck the heck out of the other's head!) but it's still a wonderful image. Makes me almost want to eat a pot roast next Thanksgiving. :D

One last thing...and I don't know if this will ruin the "old feel" or not but you might try selectively sharpening the eyes a bit just so the viewer can better connect with the turkeys.

Christopher, Really good critique by Jules. I think this is just adorable. Your aging process is very nice. The darker vignette at the top is nice. I love the new avatar and putting a face w/ the name is great!:)

Maybe just a slight lightening of the ULC area to blend with the other corners a little more. But ...

Thanks Jules, Denise, and Mark. I appreciate the comments and suggestions. Jules, you're perfectly right that a little more separation would have been good, but I don't yet know the magic word to make animals pose perfectly! :D

Christopher, in this case I believe the magic word is "Butterball." :D:D:D

Christopher, how neat that you raise some turkeys - are they heirlooms? I agree with Jules about the eye
sharpening. I like the aging process you achieved and thanks for the link:)

Hi Cheryl, The turkeys are Broad-Breasted Whites, so, no, they're not a heirloom breed. I raise them to sell for Thanksgiving. Thanks for commenting!
