This is from a few days ago. Lighting is not ideal, but I liked the habitat part of photo with the bird. I am still trying to see how the new monitor looks. 50d, 500mm f/4 at 5.6, 1/750 and ISO400. Some cropping and the usual pp.n Tks for comments, Dave

Dave, bird is nice and sharp, I like the wing position and the complimentary colours. Still haven't got close enough to one of these to even attempt a shot.

Thanks Roy. I often head out to Brunswick Point. Lately there have been a half dozen or so flying around. You'll need rubbers though if you want to step off the dyke, which I do. Lots of rain and high daytime tides can make it pretty wet. Any cloud cover really makes it tough to get any shutter speed right now though. Dave
