Soft Spoken

Nikon D300; f/22; 4"; 105 mm macro.
I used one of my favorite wood textures, with some Topaz Simplify to tone it down a bit. Edited with Nik's ColorEfex Pro, and a gentle white vignette blur applied.

I especially love the slight turn of the flower and the fact that the light 'seems' to be brighter behind it and falls off to the right. Simply lovely...

I don't know how to do any of that stuff but this is loverly. My only concern is that the softly focused side of the flower (on our right) blends a bit too much with the BKGR... You angle into the flower was perfectly chosen.

Simply gorgeous. What more can I say. I really struggle with the soft stuff so it's appreciated more.

Thank you Gus, Julie, Arthur, and Dave. I see what you are referring to, Arthur, and that's perhaps a function of how much texture one chooses to paint off to reveal the subject. A little more painting (at reduced opacity) on that right side could have improved the blending from the flower to the BG. Thanks for the input everyone - always more to think about!

Barbara, This is so pretty! Beautiful soft pink colors and the tone on tone is just great!The comp. is nice also.

such a lucious shade of pink Barbara.. I like your comp and the texture works well here.. I might try to reduce it a bit on the rs to define the petal edges a bit more. A really lovely image :)
