I'm still exploring different directions with Fractalious. I worked with this image untill I came up with this version. I had also played with lowering the layer opacity to let just a touch of the original color and detail come through. It just didn't seem to have the same punch or impact as I feel in this version, so I'll offer it up for comments as is. I truly appreciate the comments and guidance here.

Dave, I use the opacity slider also and then I add a layer mask and mask back in some of the detail in just a few areas. I really like the way this came out. I might try to tone down some of the brighter flowers (this might be a good area to mask back in some detail)The B&W is a good look for this.:)

nice one Dave- I like how the details/focus seems to fade out from the center. Nice graphic lines and the b/w conversion works well with this intimate scene. I like this one alot :)

Dave, the b&w really works well with this image. I like it a lot. I think I'd crop a little off the top - maybe
to the top of the bunch of flowers, eliminating the lighter single flowers at the top.

Beautiful and powerful B&W, Dave. I feel like a bit could come off the top - maybe eliminate right below that top flower so there aren't too singles at the top. I see so much going on at the bottom and middle that the top seems a bit lost to me.

Thanks everyone. I'm hearing about what I had expected. I had thought about a crop from the top but couldn't decide just where to put it. no matter where, I'm gonna be cutting through a flower (I believe) Denise, thanks for the suggestions on the masks for some of the brighter blooms I think that will work out well. Thanks again to everyone.

I like how this turned out and the B and white and Frac look great. Agree with D and might tone down or mask in some of the brighter flowers. Nice work Dave.
