I really do not like the BG, but it was too dificult for me to get rid of it. Bad light as well posted for interest and suggestions.

Hello Ken, what a gorgeous bird to have access to. Those eyes are pretty bold and seem to have good strength and draw. I agree about the BG. it is busy and cluttered. However I worked this image into a vertical crop, with the bird biased to the left, cropped some off the top and let the natural rise of the triangular sticks bring draw to the birds head. I think it is a possibility, I will be curious of how others see it too.
Best to you
Karl

Wow, what an interesting little bird. Too bad about the busy BG but the bird is very strong, with those beady yellow eyes staring you down. A vertical crop might help eliminate some of the distracting BG.

Thanks for these suggestions, I have cropped to vertical and blurred the BG a little more. It is still cluttered but a lot better, thanks a lot.
We do not see these on a regular basis.

Ken, Like the almost cross-eyed stare he gave you! Also like the triangular frame the bg branches form round him. The rest of the bg might be improved by dulling it down & some blurring, I think, but that is personal. Well captured; I spent some time watching chinspot batises recently and they are forever flitting about.
