American Pipit
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2742/...b4083b9b_o.jpg
The American Pipit has always been an enigma bird for me. I seem to always see them in flight, and when I do see them on the ground, they always seem to be completely unapproachable. This morning, I found a few pipits in Horseshoe Cove on Sandy Hook. It took awhile to crawl up to them on my stomach, but eventually I was close enough for some photos. Against a background of white frozen sea foam, one of the pipits was cooperative.

Congrats. You got your image of a tough bird and it is sharp and well exposed. The less than ideal setting is what it is.

Very well exposed, beautiful bird.

Nice eye level pic with sharp image in with distracting sticks behind. I really do like the weathered plank perch.
