I took this image yesterday afternoon. I did a series of head shots and I liked this comp. I know it's tight but that is what I was after. I added a frac.(what else!) treatment to it. But this time experimented w/ making it a softer look. I masked back in some details, I thought it almost looked like an Orton effect.

I love the softness of the fur. It looks like the "smudge" technique that became popular a few years ago.

Oh My! Just how cool is that. I'm glad that you went in that tight, imho it makes the shot (along with the touch of Frac). I just can't keep up with you guys. :(

Denise, this is just lovely! The subtle use of the effect and the tight crop really give a sense of intimacy to the image. The fur looks so dreamy, and the eyes on the top ROT line really makes a strong composition. Love it!

Denise, I love the soft, dreamy look and the composition. The eyes are amazing - I've never seen them up close.

this is just so beautiful! Ideally I'd like to see just a smidge more room under the fox's chin, but the soft feel and wonderful flow of lines in the fur is just exquisite Denise. I'm totally captivated by those clear bright eyes. I just may have to order a print of this one, I love it!:D

You're going to have to give me frac lessons, Denise. Mine don't come out looking ANYTHING like this. Gosh, I have to agree - this is one of my alltime favorites of yours. The details are there but so is the softness - it's positively surreal.

Thanks Jules, I appreciate it. I really just played w/ the settings and have now added this setting to my set and have called it "soft fix" I think it resembles an orton look w/o the color punch.
