Did I Go Overboard?

I took this image yeaterday of a Snowy that was about 300 yards (2X on 300) out in corn stubble, was playing with this image using sandstone texture in PSP 7..the result was first image..didn't like the background..so I tried self coloring it to make it into an sunset sky..what do you think, too much or leave it like second image?

Paul, I like the top one. Only wish the Snowy stood out a bit more (maybe it's the posting size). It has a cool graphic/abstract look.:)

I prefer the top one as well. I like the layered look and the lack of color just seems to work better with the scene to me. I didn't even notice the snowy until Denise mentioned it. I need to get my vision checked. :eek:

Count me in for the top one also. I do like the feel but agree with Denise in wishing the snowy were a bit more prominent. I should first wish for me to just see a real snowy:D

Both images work for me but I think I like the subtlety of the first one. I agree about the owl. I think it ended up in the Twilight Zone as far as neither standing out nor blending in. I would be tempted to either remove it, which would make the image an abstract, or mask it back to some detail so it is more prominent. Do like the feel of this!

Hi Paul, I too like the top one. Maybe you can just post the larger version of the top image to compare. I too feel the owl could have a bit more definition. TFS.

I like the concept Paul, but for me, the owl is a bit lost amid the wide shapes and patterns. I wear a patch over one eye though and my vision is quite limited, so take that with a grain of salt please :)

My vision is just coming back, this past November an ATV mishap (a branch smashed me in the right eye hard enough to scratch my cornea), my right eye hasn't been the same, still waiting for the light flashes to go away, eye doctor said I was very, very lucky..no detached retina..Being down to one eye for 2 months was tough

I definitely like the repost much better Paul. Glad you hear your vision returned. I've been without the use of my left eye for going on 4 yrs now, and although I've adapted in some ways, it's a tough thing to get used to. But, I hate to complain much because the disease that is affecting my one eye could eventually spread to both.. and one is better than none :)

Repost is a great improvement. Saw a documentary on Public Telivision featuring the White Falcon, White Wolf and Snowy up north of you, Ellesmere Island (9 months of snow every year)

With you, Cindy and me having only one good eye at the moment, repost was the ticket.
