This was taken in Florida while out for a morning walk last month. All C&Cs welcome.

Good exposure control on those highlights. It's sharp, good HA, and wing position.

The wave sure does cut across the frame though, my only complaint.

Very nice, Nice detail on the whites, I like the pose, wing position, HA and sharp eye.
The wave didn't bother me at first glance, but after staring at it I'm not sure.:confused:

Hey Jim - This is a drop dead gorgeous shot of a beautiful bird in flight showing every detail in the feathers and perfect exposure control. The composition is "best choice" and the breaking wave makes the image unique and compelling. Sharpness is at the level that will sell a few more of those 100 - 400's for Canon. All in all a "Perfect Storm" in my opinion. Did I mention that the bird really pops!!:)

You did a wonderful job exposing for this bird. Your whites are right on the money and there is amazing detail in those feathers. You also have beautiful light and a great wing position. I personally feel that the wave helps to tell a story here. The egret without the wave would be a totally different picture.

As others have said...great exposure on the whites with a lot of detail. I like the wave as it adds to the image. Great work!

Incredibly well lit, fantastic pose and tack sharp. I do like how the wave helps with the storytelling of the image, but I can see how it can be a distraction. That is one gorgeous snowy egret!

Jim, super sharp, and I like the placement in the frame. You nailed the exposure too. The intersecting line of the breaking wave does distract slightly, and not sure if blurring it a tad more will help.

A bird that hunts along the shore flying over a breaking wave looks good to me. Wouldn't work for me if he wasn't flying along the same line as the wave though. Nice wing position, detail, and color.
