Fabulous juxtaposition, EXP, and complementary wing positions. Not sure if there is a better spots for the drake's head..... Would like to see a bit more room in front.
Welcome and show us more tomorrow.
Welcome Nick! Very nice first post. Impressive DOF for f/5.6. A bit more room on the top and bottom, and more room on the right. Please include techs with your images; it helps with critiques.
Hi Nick - Wonderful shot with the wings in opposite position and the drake in focus. Follow Artie and Doug suggestions and you'll make even better images. I'm wondering about your gear and ISO setting as I'm seeing noise in the bokeh. Great shot!
Big welcome to BPN Nick , impressive image to start with
TFS
Nice timing of the shot as u could display both sides of the wings of the same birds.
beautiful image and love the wing detail. I agree with adding more room on top and bottom.
Welcome to BPN, Nick! Great first post. I like the wing positions, sharpness and eye contact and don't find the overlap distracting at all. The image could go a bit brighter for my taste and I would run NR on the BG. More room has been mentioned. Does it need a tad CW rotation? Keep them coming!
Here is a re-working of the image incorporating everyone's suggestions including a run through NeatImage. Alex, I'm not sure what you meant by CW rotation but I'm assuming you mean leveling the image. Thanks to everyone who commented.

I'm still wanting room on the right; the birds are too centered as posted.
