Very neat looking Dave. When I first saw the thumbnail I thought it was a feather pattern, Very nice color tones and composition is interesting.
Dave, I like this a lot, the pattern is strong. What is the crusty looking stuff at the top?
Hi Connie, I took this in Death Valley by the sandunes. There are patches of it in different areas. I really don't know what it is...possibly someone else might know.
I think this is bedrock to surface, quartzite possibly, Connie...? I really like this a lot Dave, its got such heavy texture and beautiful color. Rock is fun to shoot, and sand and rock, well...even better! I like what you have done with this image.
Beautiful image, Dave...perfect composition and I think you did an amazing job in pp. Love the bicolor effect (one of my new favorites!) Super image overall - I'd hang it on my wall for sure.
Thanks folks...appreciate the comments...
I have looked at this again, and I am not so sure its rock, it could be just consolidated silts and sands, aka dried mud, next to the nice bronzish colored sands.
Hi Katherine, It seemed to have the texture of consolidated silts and sands. These areas appear and disappear depending on the blowing sands...
Well what ever it is, its gawjus. You did such a nice job on processing. And you obv. have a Good Eye. As they say.
Hi Dave,
I love the shapes and textures on this - it looks somewhat lunar to me - not that I've any experience of lunar landscapes you understand!! A very intriguing image.
Best,
Nicki
Thanks Nicki...that area of death valley does look lunar...
Great form & textures...nice!
