Nice image and application Denise.
I might have cropped out the small rock formation on the RB by cropping a little to the right of the next formation. I also might have cropped out the bottom to the first swirl in the center of the image, the density of the lower part does not seem to add to the rest of the swirl, for me. But...
Your image ... your vision.
Mark, If I crop out the small rock formation on the right-then I would eliminate most of the clouds, which I don't want to do. If I crop up from the bottom it would put my horizon in the center, which I don't want either.
Here's an example, but ... your vision.
Don't disagree, just view something different. ;)
Mark, To me this bottom crop has eliminated the feel of a long journey into the mountains-which I was going for. The right crop I could do but chose not to because I did like the cloud formation on the right and cropping that out would make it more of a square crop which I don't like since I'm not willing to crop from the bottom. Those are just my thoughts.
interesting concept....maybe an oval or polygon crop :D
I see Mark's idea, but the horizon positioned centrally doesn't work for me.
Only possible enhancement might be more Red Rock color in the foreground swirl
nice creative ootb departure
Ah, Sedona, such a beautiful place! Nice work Denise, I like the original post and crop. It gives the illusion of a long journey to the cliffs, IMO:).
Beautiful composition, Denise. Love the swirl. btw, did you do anything on the sky or was it like this in the original. It's a beautiful base image.
Thankyou all for your help and you views. I appreciate it.
Indranil, I just did some color tweaks, contrast and sharpening.
Like it as presented D. Almost dizzying if you look at it too long. Very creative, and I like the side lighting on the rocks.
Like it as presented. Great image and nice effect.
Jackie and Nick, Thanks for the kind words.
I see where your coming from with the long journey idea...but agree with Dave, Mark, 50/50 crop doesn't work...but a great starting point...tweak it some more...TFS
Paul, Thanks for your thoughts.Much appreciated.
