Hi all. I'm back from my most excellent road trip to New Mexico and the Salton Sea. I have some images to share so here goes...
Snow Geese and Sandhill Cranes hang out in the golden light of dawn at Bosque del Apache. DAP'ed using "realism" as a preset to start with. Brushed back some detail in the foreground birds using a mask and 50% gray brush. :)

A nice painterly image with a great blend from FG to BG. Love the light and how you handled the bright tones on the geese feathers. Only nit is that the bright orange goose (or crane) in the left BG seems to distract - maybe you could tone it down a bit. Thanks for the post!

glad you've had a great trip Kerry.
The interesting part of this image for me is the white/gray horizontal layers
of the geese/cranes. Nice pp.....night crop about 25% from top, just a choice

Great job Kerry! I might have revealed a little less detail but thats because I really like the DAP look! I guess I'm going to have to plan a Bosque trip!

Very nice, Kerry! Love the colors and the layered effect. Agree with Keith on toning down the bright orange patch in the BG.

Kerry - it looks like it was a great trip. I was hoping to get there this year but not sure if it'll happen. I love the colors and the DAP treatment.:)
