Took this last month, the flash failed to fire while I was trying to shoot a Red Squirrel. Figured I'd have some fun with it. Straight line on the left is the side of a house.

Levels adjustment on original to clean up blacks and whites, bucketed in a few colors that made sense to me, and did some freehand work to fix up the tail and eye.

Very creative image, Dave! I like the abstract composition; the gray area on the left balances the squirrel nicely. Nice colors too. Well done.
I like this too! It has a nice graphic look to it. I like the framing also w/ the inclusion of the thin red border.

I agree with the previous comments. The "rule" is to compose animals so they have room to move into the frame, but this "about to escape" arrangement works here. Good seeing beyond the "mistake".
