Flying through

One thing I love about CS3 & 4 is the warping tool. Photoimpact is my favourite, but PS comes into its own for warping.

So took the original image and warped it in CS4. Saved it and into Photoimpact for the rest. Added shadows to the folds and the hover fly slightly, added in a Monarch and then just added shadows to the whole image.

So if you want to have a bit of fun, try this. Warning, its addictive ;)

In CS4 open an image, then open a blank image larger than the original, drag or paste the original into it. Goto Edit / Transform / Warp. Drag the corners and the other boxes around.

While you are there also try the skew, distort and perspective tools as well. Great fun. All the best folks.

I always have trouble putting drop shadows or any shadow on a warped image

Wow! I don't have a clue how you did this even with your explanation, but it looks great. The shadow is incredible and it's even on your copyright!

Really simple Dave. Take the lasso tool and just highlight one fold at a time, then add the shadow to just that one fold. Then move onto the next fold. Finally with the wand tool, do the entire image, invert it and then add the shadow to the whole image. Sounds far more complicated than it is. It is easy. ;)
