Took this with the 100-400 @ 400. I focused on the far shore and held the focus and re-framed. Full frame and did a soft focus and reflector efffects in NIK. Not sure if it works or not. I did like the abstract look of all the light circles. Comments Appreciated, thanks.

Jackie, I like the bokeh effect and the grey BG is pleasing to me. I think more of a pattern or focal point would be good. This does have an abstract quality that seems to be growing on me the more I look at it. In fact I could look at this for a while-:) It's soothing.

This has quite an optical illusion to it. Sort of moves the more you look at it. That really appeals to me and plays on the mind. Nice.

Jackie,
I like this technique, and this image holds a lot of interest. I do find the gap in the pattern toward the lower left a bit distracting. I tried a quick crop to place that area in the corner of the frame, and I think that removes the distraction while helping to emphasize the main diagonal pattern of the reflections. What do you think?
Keep looking for images of defocused reflections in water and dew - the results can be amazing. Tony Sweet, Brenda Tharp, and Freeman Patterson have all used this approach in their books.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Chris I kind of liked the negative space in the corner. But it has inspired me to play around with some other crop versions. Didn't know that about the other photogs, will have to look up some of their work. Thank You.
