I was cleaning up some old files on the computer this morning and found this - an image of a Queen Anne's Lace that I worked on during the Macro forum's "Duotone" challenge this spring. It's got some blotchiness in the BG due to the conversion but I loved the composition and colors.
Canon 40D, EF 100mm f/2.8
f3.2 @ 1/200th, ISO 800 (Not sure why?)
Pattern metering, manual mode, natural light
Processed in ACR & CS4; small crop, converted to grayscale and changed to a tritone.

Very creative Jules. I like the color tones. The composition is interesting. I do notice the blotches in the BG esp. near the stem. I might tone down the bright spots on the left just a tiny bit. But I like the overall look to this very much.

Hi Jules, Very nice tritone. Love the composition and color tones. Have you considered giving the BG a pass of gaussian blur to remove the blotches? I might remove the OOF stem in the URC, it seems to distract a bit from the main subject IMO.
