Just got my Lensbaby Composer yesterday and took it out this morning for a test spin. Here is one of the images.

Canon 30D; Lensbaby Composer; Handheld

1/100 sec @ f/4.0; ISO 200; -1/3 EV; FL 50mm

Added a touch in Topaz Adjust during post-processing.

I'm looking for any and all feedback - good, bad or indifferent.

Ed, As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I knew you had the lensbaby! I have the composer also. This has a very unique look. I like the one side in soft focus while the other side looks like a motion blur.Does it need a CW rotation? I am going to have to experiment with mine some more. I haven't used it in awhile. You have inspired me and given me an idea!

Ed, I just added blur images to our Theme week contest for Dec. 13th-20th! Should be fun!!

Thanks, Denise. I appreciate the feedback. I don't know if it needs CW rotation. Rotation may help level a line but I can assure you that the camera was level when the image was made. (I have, in most cases, adopted that as my definition of level.)

But in the spirit of comparison and wanting the best possible image, here is what it looks like with the CW rotation.

A blurred zoom effect that pushes the eye to the main element. Works really well Ed, looking forward to more with your new toy :)

the possibilities rendered with the Composer is endless as the imagination...congrats on your capture, I like this very much. The second post is on the money...:D Which aperture disk did you use?

First off, I'm not sure why I am here at 0429, but I am.:)

Your comment is very interesting to me, Jay. I posted this image and several other Lensbaby images on my blog (accessed via my website below) and I had someone else tell me it made her dizzy. I may be on to something. :D

The blur here is quite interesting to me. The Lensbaby has a small sweet spot and as you move out from it, blur builds. But then you can bend the lens which affords the opportunity to move that sweet spot around. What I didn't expect until I shot was the effect the Lensbaby would have on the water. The water blur is almost like what I would get with a long exposure but this was only what 1/100 sec. So there are some funky things happening here but I like it!

And Gus, I was using the f/4.0 aperture ring.

I like it! I like the blur coming from the right side. Your repost is better--just feels better.
