We are staying for a week up in Madera Canyon with Gina's sister from England. Weather gorgeous, however birds are in short supply.
This painting was done in watercolor mode with user application taste . . .

Unfortunately the bird was crowded in front of a rock wall when I photographed him. Hower, I
took the original painting into CS4, extended canvas, worked with QM, clone, paint brushes to
come up with this repost. Also, for the first time with QM, when I moved a replacement piece of
the BG, I used opacity to blend it in.

Hi Gus, The extra room looks great. just a couple of clone repeats but that should be easy for you to smooth out. Thanks for the workflow-it is most helpful to us all!!
Nice image and application, Gus.
Might want to lighten the area between the extension canvas and the head of the bird a little. In the original you don't have the light area there and I think it might open up the "face" of the bird a little. Otherwise nice job.
Very nice composition and watercolor effect. I like the repost with extra room on the right.
If I was forced to pick one Gus, it would be the first image. I like the effect while also still holding the details. Very nicely worked.
