Bst Buy and futureshop both have them on their website still.

Sounds like Denise is your contact if you want a used one! If new is necessary, it looks like Walmart.com still has them for $1049.00 (Body Only). Not a typical place to buy an SLR but at least you don't have to worry about getting taken. I just bought a Canon refurbished 40D as a b/u camera and it was in perfect condition. Canon may still have some of those for sale. Good luck.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll be making up my mind in the next two weeks. I'm not sure I want to go with a new 50D,so it comes down to the 40D or a substantially more expensive 7D. My 30D,which was working flawlesslt until a week ago is currently getting the shutter assembly replaced. I'm currently without a camera and realizing that two bodies are pretty much mandtory,even for an amature like me. :o

I was wondering which camera body you ended up deciding upon, as I am facing the same decision right now, whether to go with the 50d v the 40d; and how you feel about the result of your decision.
