Ed, I like the Topaz effect on the trees. The middle ground area is very bright and catches my eye a bit too much. It looks like you did some dodging on the foliage at the side of the bridge and some hit the bridge a bit-not sure.
Wow, Ed, neat conversion! I agree with Denise - I'd tone down the foliage at the edge of the bridge just a tiny bit and that one really white board on the bridge itself. Any chance you have a little more room on the left side of the frame? I'd love to see a bit more of the tree on that side - it feels a tiny bit squashed.
This really is lovely...you're going to make me buy Topaz yet!
Thanks Denise. Thanks Julie. As always, I appreciate the feedback. I was going to ask about the white but decided to let it fly. I knew they were bright but I really liked the contrast so I let it be. Here is the same image except I backed off just a bit.

Denise, I did no dodging. Don't even know how to dodge but I do know how to get out of Dodge when necessary! :eek: While the sun was coming in from behind left (and more left), I was photographing in a shaded area. The bright spot on the side of the bridge, the foliage at the front and across the ground in the front is sunlight coming through the shade from the tree.
Jules, unfortunately I have no shots with more tree visible to the left.
Ed, It's amazing how that filter grabs a hold of things. I would never have guessed the sun. Anyway I liked the contrast in the OP also. I just thought the ground area needed a bit of toning down.
Ed, After using the Toipaz filter sets have you got a favorite? Don't you just love the Simplify Buz on the trees?
There are several presets that I am finding myself going back to repeatedly. If I am going for effect in Topaz Adjust, I am liking the Spicify and Psychedelic presets a lot. In Simplify, I do really like the Buz but I find myself backing off just a bit as I did here. I also like the oil painting and watercolor presets as well.
Jules, Topaz is cool but I am really wanting the Nik software. I want the Suite but keep thinking that maybe Viveza, Color EFX and Silver EFX may be enough. I will have to decide once I have the $$$.
I just wanted to get out at lunch today with the IR-converted Rebel XT and do some experimenting. I just thought this composition and image turned out very well. As I said, I loved the contrast and Topaz added a very nice touch!
I also did some IR motion blurs that I kinda like.
Ed, I'm interested to see the IR motion blurs.
