This is another vertical pan/image blur from last weekend's workshop in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
After making some basic adjustments in Lightroom, I went into Topaz Adjust and did some mild (compared to what could have been done :D) detail adjustments.
Canon 50D; 24-70 2.8L lens; handheld
1.6 sec @ f/16; ISO 200; 0 EV; FL 50mm
Hi Ed, I like what you are doing here and the blur is just the right amount for me. I might deepen the green and yellow golden tones a bit for a richer look. The one strip of white I might evict.Nice fall blur!

like the vert sweep of this one a lot Ed.....agree with Denise about the white strip and
might add that the white milky oof across bottom also seems out of place.
Does one tree with defined bark and one super smooth seem a bit odd visually?
What's your thought?

As always, I appreciate the feedback.
I have puzzled a bit over the white strip in the image. First of all, I am not quite sure what it is. I showed this (or a very similar image) to Tony Sweet during the critique session at the workshop. He made some comments but nothing about the white strip. So I asked him about it. His first response was to leave it; it didn't bother him. Then he said, if I wanted to, I could just clone it out.Quote:

Yes it does. The only explanation I can offer is that the two trees were at different depth resulting in one being in better focus than the other. But you would think the vertical panning would smooth it out... unless, I guess, the pan was perfectly stable side to side? I dunno.Quote:

I actually enjoy it, Dave. Used to be that if someone said make the sky green and the grass blue, I would do it. But as I have become more comfortable with my art, I am less likely to make change for change sake or because someone else thinks it should be different. I have to think it should be different. Sometimes, I will think about and make the suggested change. For example, I posted a "reflection" image in Landscapes. Based on feedback, I went with two different crops and then a digital sandwich until I got to where I felt right with the image. Other times I will think about the suggestion and just say no thanks.
But in the final analysis, its all good!
