Dug this out of my shots from April this year at the sports grounds of the University of Pretoria.
I liked the pose and exposure here. Brought back some detail in the whites with multiplied layers.
This is about a 50% crop.

Nice eye contact and simple/effective compo.
The multiplied layers really saved the whites here. I would desat. the sky a little.
Nice detail and light Morkel, the whites look fine on my monitor. Agree that BG can be desaturated.
Nice exposure on those whites beak and eye are sharp, wing position while good is somewhat marginal in being close to a flat profile, would desat the sky. TFS

here is one with the sky desaturated some...although in Africa our skies actually are that blue :)
