Northern Bobwhite Set-up
Northern Bobwhite female
Rio-grande Valley, TX
D1X, 600, f7, 1/350, ISO 250, -0.3 EV.
I found this old weathered stump and thought it would make a nice perch for the quail in the area.
I pulled some of the vegetation that was growing near bye and placed it around the stump.
This was shot six years ago in early morning hazy light.

Loverly bird, perch, BKGR, and set-up. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the one out of place feather near the tail.
When y'all learn how Alan get's these birds on top of the stump you will be amazed. I was. The answer is in his SSUPG: https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=275

This guy looks delicious. Uh...I mean wonderful image, love the perch and the look back pose. Sharpness BG and foliage all great here. I agree with Mr. Morris about the loose feather. Congrats
