Really nice painterly effect Denise. Do you ever end up painting any of these on paper or canvas?
Jackie, I used to hand paint on canvas w/ acrylic paints. I liked the quick drying time w/ the acrylic paints. But now I like to use the actual photo w/ the treatment and just print that out on canvas paper. Saves alot of time.
Denise;I like it. The only thing I might do is use a clone brush to eliminate some of the OOF branches in front of the moose. regards~Bill
Hi Bill, I did consider that and I am still on the fence with it. I should probably get rid of the two green grass blades for sure. Do you think I should get rid of more than just those two. Maybe the one that is tall and goes by his back?
Beautiful painting, Denise. I like the painterly effect.
Denise, that is too fun! I love the application you chose and the facial expression is wonderful.
Denise: just those two. The OOF Grass (that splits) would be OK if it weren't out of focus. I was wondering if you could sharpen its edges. Maybe a bit of selecting, copy to a new layer, fill with green. I don't know for sure, but I don't have a problem with it being there, just what looks like feathered edges. regards~Bill
Good idea Bill, I'll give it a try tomorrow and see what I come up with. Thanks for your help.
Thankyou everyone for your comments.
missed this one.....nice painterly look with good tone variation.
Agree, just the 2 oof grasses.......the others IMO are an important element.
The eye reveal is a nice touch
Dave, Thanks. Hopefully I'll get some time tomorrow to fix it.
I would say fabulous painting this is

Denise...I love this painterly effect...what software did you use?...When I look at this image my eyes are drawn to the face and eye...two big grass blades could go..but leave the twigs...moose are called twig eaters or lololol....swamp donkey's up here...
Paul, Thankyou, I used the Topaz Simplify and masked back in the eyes and a few random spots.
