Paul, I took the liberty of copying this thread down to the OOTB forum as we do a lot of blurs down there. Be sure to check for comments down there as well!
Can you give us some more information about how you created the blur and did you do anything special to the image in pp?
I really like the soft look to the image and the blur is very nice - I like when you can still make out what the main part of the image is. I'm not sure I love the two sticks - I think this would be even more powerful with just the multi-colored leaves floating around.
I wonder, too, if you tried to increase the contrast a bit more if that would give it more pop or if it would counteract the soft feel too much. Might be worth a try.
Thanks, Julie.
All effect was done in camera; I just gently shook the camera during the exposure. I tried adding contrast, but I think it takes away from the softness to much. However, increasing the saturation does improve the shot.
Thanks,
Paul
Paul, Welcome to OOTB! Really nice in-camera blur. I like the amount of contrats you used and agree w/ you that adding more would take the softness out of it and would also make the two sticks pop out of the frame too much. Nice fall colors and I like the amount of blur-Well done.
Nice image and application, Paul.
Hi Paul, I like your in camera blur and the softness of color. I like the 3 red leaves in a diagonal and feel if you concentrated more on them the image would be stronger....
Welcome to OOTB
lovely image and technique
