From what I am hearing so far - I would class it as a minor upgrade from the D3 the addition of video and sensor cleaning and a new 102,400 ISO is not enough to make me consider upgrading.
Dont need video - the again if you want video - it would be a upgrade.
Only pricing I have heard is 4200 UK Pounds.

Instead they keep D3s at 12.1 megapixels FX. I believe the technology has reached a point when
megapixels are irrelevant at the present FX format.

I too was hoping to add a D700x @ 18-24 megapixel to my D300 collection of Nikon equipment. It doesn't look like it's going to happen with the release of the D3s. Nikon needs to keep up with and stay competitive with Canon and have something to compete with the D5 II.
I would not expect a D700x any time soon. The D700 was eating into D3 sales, and now Nikon has a way of differentiating them a bit more with the D3s.
