Hey Mark, I like the effect and the rope looks neat! The blurb is funny and soooo true! Wish for some eye contact from one of them.
Sorry Denise ... Interesting comment, as I got the same the first time I posted the one of the two alone. I therefore have to give you the same answer, as I did that time ... Do you want to go up and tell the chimps to look at the "Birdie"!!! Too big and strong for my blood!!! ;)
The lone chimp does have his head turned a little and the original image shows his eye, but the effects for the cartoon down played that.
Presume you would avoid eye contact in the same situation though!!!! Right??? :D
Thanks for viewing and comment though. Appreciate it.
Mark, Appreciate your story but were looking at the image and not the situation that took place while shooting it.
No problem Dave, but this is a cartoon and not a cover submittal. I know the HA view of the subject is desired. But sometimes what is not shown is more inspiring that what is. To have been able to get the view of the subject, looking into the lens, to conform with the "standard HA premise", would not have rendered the vision presented. I share your desire for some adherence to the rules of photography. However they, like all rules. need to be open to the image and vision presented, IMHO.
To disagree is not a problem. For my vision can only be shared with those of like vision. Others can view what they see and feel, as it affects them. Some will ... some won't. But all are welcome.
I appreciate all comments, but I feel we need to also advise others that one view is not the only one. My explanations are only to present that option to the viewer, as I saw it when creating the vision.
I thank you and I do appreciate your viewing and comments, as always, and I do not totally disagree with them. But I also know what was available and what rendered the vision that I have presented.
Mark, Denise simply gave her opinion. You are presenting an image for critique which is to be expected on the site. Whether you accept it or not is totally up to you.We, along with everyone else are not the final word and I think that most folks understand that. To give a rational for why the image has perceived flaws doesn't change anything. I realise there is more leeway given in OOTB (due to the creative aspect) but we have our opinions as moderators and are asked to give them. When I critique an image I'm giving you my "vision". No one elses!
Regarding this being a cartoon and not a cover submittal is really not the point. Should we pick and choose which theme should be critiqued and which should not? You were aware of the head angle and should not be surprised if someone commented on it.
I appreciate your efforts and contributions but IMO it's the image that speaks for itself.
