This image was shot at Merritt Island NWR this past year. I liked the background woods, which reminds me of the hills back home and the mountains out west where the eagles fly free.
Hope you enjoy!

I like the long vertical crop and the layered look in the BG. The effect looks nice. The blurb looks a bit tight up top-maybe a caption at the bottom. But the words fit perfectly. Well done.
Agree with Denise's comments...
Thanks for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.
love the base image......gradation is a bit rough for my taste.
Would definitely be interested in seeing the original Mark
I like the effect and caption, Mark. Agree with comments on the top and graduation.
Thanks Christopher and Dave for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.
See attached. (Not rough adjustments in PS for clarity only. Still needs final adjustments for acceptable image. But showing for information as requested.)
First eagle image I caught down here and he was distant from our location. I couldn't make out the head until I enlarged it in the camera viewer. Luckily my 35-350mm caught it.
I cropped the top to accent the height, for the effect of the cartoon theme.
I also put the bubble there, to bring the eye to the top as well. I didn't think other locations for the bubble would be as effective in this case.
Gradation is for the cartoon theme. It comes with the poster edge and I tried other adjustments, but liked this effect the best.
At least that was my vision.
But again thanks for the comments. Understand all visions are not equal, but are always worthy of expression.
nice effective crop and your enhancement for cartoon is quite good on this one.
I bet the view originally was quite a sight
Mark, I like this one. The vertical crop works well and a great blurb.
Thanks Dave and Indranil. Appreciate the viewing and comments.
Yes Dave. Any viewing of an eagle is quite a sight. Use to shoot them on the Wisconsin River in winter, where they can be within 20 feet if they so choose to land on the right tree. I also saw a few out west, but each time is special as they are not that common and there is always a memory of what they represent to our country and their majestic flight.
Way to go Mark...these birds are making a great comeback...you still have to work to see an adult up here but more and more appearing each year...like the crop, good cartooning effect and punch line
Thanks Paul, appreciate the viewing and comment.
