Hi, Paul. Great pose of the nuthatch, and I really like the color tones and the combined effects. Very nice job. I might take just a sliver off the tope.
Paul, Nice job with the filters. I like the pose and the HA. Details look very good. I might lighten the image just a tiny bit,but not much. Well done!!!
Paul, I really like this photo. I enjoy seeing the eye contact with the bird and behavior of the nuthatch clinging to the tree.
As far as the treatment goes, please help me out to understand what you did. I thought watercolors didn't have much detail, so I was surprised that this one does have great detail on the tree and bird. Does the step you mention of "raising the edges" add back detail? I'm not familiar with what that means. Sorry...newbie at this type of processing.
Hi Paul, Nice comp with a good use of filters.
the treatment of the bark is awesome....thick and mossy looking.
As far as lightening, I might bring up the golden throat just a bit
Paul, very nice treatment! Agree with bringing up the throat color. Amazing detail for a painting. I like it alot:)
Thank you all for comments
I lightened the image about .20 (in levels), cropped just a sliver of the top and .10 oversaturated the gold (using yellow slider saturation control....
Patti ... bevel edges is and effect in Paint Shop Pro 9 which gives the image depth around the edges (grey blue border around image), Sorry for delay in response, I was at a golf tournament all day...
Many lovely paintings this week..
Paul
