I'm not sure what artist I am emulating, but I did try for a "painterly" effect. I can't get DAP, so I used a variety of filters including but not limited to - sketch/charcoal and chalk in CS4, Topaz simplify, Nik ColorEfex Pastel, and underpainting in CS4. Thanks for looking.

Cindy, Beautiful pastels. I love the color tones on Willets and the color palette you've chosen goes very nicely with their natural coloring. I love the effect on the water(kind of a starry night look) This really came out nice and I 'd love to see more like this.
