This image conveys the impression of smoke rising from a fire that has just been extinguished. In reality, it is an abstract of a bare tree with a cloudy BG! I kept the entire image OOF using a closeup lens and then added a bit of noise in PP. I liked the concept and took several shots of this. Presenting one of them here. Appreciate your views and comments.
EXIF: D700, 24-70mmL @ 52mm + Caon 500D closeup lens, 1/800s, f/2.8, ISO 200, hand held, late afternoon
PP: some levels and curves adjustment, ligthened a vignetting effect on top corners, and cloned out a branch at bottom RHS, and of course added slight noise.

ramesh

Ramesh, I like your abstract look and the subtle tones work for me. I may boost the contrast just a bit and select a soft brush and smooth over the cloned area at a lower opacity so it blends more. I wish the dark center was a bit larger and taller in the image. Nicely done.

Nice idea Ramesh. I agree with Denise re: more contrast. I also would prefer no noise and a smooth look. I guess that noise is so unacceptable "in the box" that I can't handle it OOTB either:(.

Hi Ramesh, Agree with Denise's comments. For my taste I would of wanted to see a bit more definition in different areas to give the image more interest.IMO noise in this case would be a matter of choice...

I love the concept and agree with Denise evalutaion. A bit more of dark may anchor the image better.

Thanks everyone for your observations and suggestions. I really appreciate that. I have smoothened the RHS bottom and added a little more contrast. Dan, without a little noise this image loses its impact and hence left it. Here is the re-worked image. Let me know how this is.
Hi Ramesh
I really like your idea and agree that looks fine and perhaps better with some noise. I do like your repost much more than the OP as it has far more impact. Thanks for sharing mate. Looking forward to more work from you. :)
