The beach was full of kites and others enjoying the water. Caught this guy working his kite. Post processed using polarized edges, and watercolor effects in CS4. Seemed to give it more of a painting effect.

Hi Hazel, I like the effects you applied to the image. Nice graphic look to it with pleasing colors. If this were mine I would crop the top down just below the clouds. Good job!
Hazel, This does have a nice graphic look. I agree w/ Dave regarding the crop. Nice use of the filters!!
nice interpretation......with is so monotoned blue/green, it may be an option
to select the kite and change the hue......maybe to a golden yellow.
And also maybe introduce a bit of that color around the person, painted lightly on a new color blend layer.
Nice concept/presentation
On the techs.....sure could have upped the ISO above 100. Playing with 1/80 ss
for this image is risky IMO
Hazel - nice use of filters and a nice image to start with. I agree with the cropping suggestions.

Very nice Hazel! Love the treatment. A little suggestion, always check the horizon line against a straight edge (I did at the top of the browser pane by scrolling) and it needs a very slight CCW rotation probably only 1/2 a degree if that. A quick and easy way to straighten is:
Select the ruler tool in CS4
Click on the horizon line on the left or right of image
Drag ruler tool along horizon line away from starting point - of course line will NOT be straight if horizon is crooked
Go to Image>Rotate>Arbitrary and you'll see that the software will have already selected the degree of tilt it needs to straighten
Just hit ENTER or click OK
That's it. :)
Ah yes, you will need to crop off the white parts as the level image will have bits missing. Just do it and see what I mean.
Thanks for the suggestions. I have worked on them. I think the yellow is an great change. Also, Akos thanks for the help re horizon change.
