Went to Deauville one day where the town is known for its beautiful architecture. Not easy getting the buildings into compositions that I liked. Lots of people to contend with also which guides the way I shoot at times.
Used Nik tonal contrast on this since I like how it defines lines.

as noted, beautiful architecture.
I understand about the people interference, but I IMO this really needs a ground anchor.

I was wondering where the footpath was. :) Gorgeous buildings. It shows an inconventional view IMHO and I still like it. People don't bother me much, but perhaps if I were to capture this scene they would. :(

What I was up against..
Hi Dave, I reposted an image that represents what I had to deal with most of the time in France. People everywhere!
Obviously I have many images with people, cars and motorcycles.(some I actually wanted) but was trying to get comps that were a bit more artistic. I admit, some I succeeded with and others I didn't.
Also, one needs alot of patience to get those street images devoid of tourists. Some are impossible unless one gets up very early.(which is what I recommend) I didn't have that luxury since I wasn't in one place long enough....

Almost has an HDR look to it Dave. Would be hard to get a clean shot w/o the people and it looks weird sometimes having them in milling about. Wonder if straightening a little would make it look more appealing? Just a thought.

Understand the frustration of crowds. ;)
I would suggest you consider cropping to create a stronger image by removing the right building, as the vertical lines are affected by the lens selection. The other building has slight tilt, but not as bad. I would crop it to a point to remove the flower box on the first building across from it. By removing the building, the flower box has to be cropped, to some extent. I would also crop the sky, to just above the tall building.
Just my $0.01 worth. Your the artist and it's your vision.
