Hi - love the sharp details and the general idea - Not sure what your intention was - if you were going for a shiloutte, not quite dark enough for me and if you were trying to get the spider - then its a little under exposed - courtesy of that bright background - assume you were using matrix metering.
Find it helps to visualise what the end result you want is before taking the shot.
OHHH - Just My humble opinion - keep em coming and never stop looking for the extraordinary in the ordinary :)
I really like the repeating curves of the spider body, spider legs, apple, and background - all arch-shaped. The exposure works for me - dark enough to be mysterious, and yet just light enough to see more than an outline. I especially like the translucent appearance of the legs. I wish that the two farthest legs could be as sharp as the rest of the image, but it's extremely hard to get much DOF on something this small, this close up. Very nicely done.
Bill
agree with Bill. only thing I could imagine that could improve it is if the head were included.
love the sharpness and translucency in the legs. might clone out the hair/thread just above the above on the left side.
I think overall this is a neat image. I like the position of the spider and the partial silouette. The bands of light are interesting and give a flow and feel of another area or world. I might take out the small white area on the upper right.
Like the mysterious feel of this, Ovidiu. Personally I would darken the spider to make it more of a silhouette. Also I think it would be improved if the spider wasn't turned away. Just my opinion, it's a great concept regardless.
Agree with Cheyl's comments r.e. liking the translucency, and potential improvements with showing head & cloning out thread. Love the BG
Its a cool image and well done Particularly like the sharp silhouette (important) bg is interesting wold only like the part right behind the spider more like the rest Really like this one !!!
I like all the spiky detail of the legs, the curvy back ground works for me in this image. The hair on the left is a little distraction though.
Thank you all for comments and suggestions.
I really like this image. It reminds me of some alien on another planet. Agree with the head and minor cloning. Great idea.... Keep trying for the unusual, I love that!! Congrats....
I like this as is...it has a good feel and interesting mood to it...I like the play between light and shadows...congrats...
Ovidiu,
I have never posted a comment before, considering myself to be too untrained and inexperienced to judge the photographic work of others. But, I would like to tell you that your photo made me stop and ask questions inside my head. It was fascinating and intriquing. I agree about cloning out the hair at the left, but what is more important is that the photograph drew me in. I wanted to know more. That's the mark of an exceptional photo in my book. Thanks for sharing it with us. Voyla Steves
