Another in-camera blur... taken earlier this evening. Settings were -
40D, Sigma 50-500mm @ 313mm hand held
1/15 sec, f/32 Mode: Tv Metering: Evaluative Exp comp: -1 ISO: 100
Rotated and cropped. I decided to leave the bg as it is with those horizontal lines making it more interesting. Does this work? All C&C will be appreciated.

Not sure Indranil. I love the pelican and the blur itself. I feel the lines are rather strong, thus compete with the the main subject, especially that it is a bit small in the frame. I see a smudge about a third of the way down on the RHS, along the bottom wave? line. Perhaps a surfer? I would definitely clone that spot.

Indranil, I love this blur!! It has a real sense of motion, I agree w/ Akos the lines are a bit distracting-I like the re-post much better. I like the way the water has a nice soft flow to it. Nicely done Indranil!!!
someone please tell me if i am wrong. but i think that the rule that you need to shoot with the light to your back still applies here. as cool of a blur as it is, i think if the bird were lit like the far wing, it would be a much more pleasing image. agree with the others about the strong lines. the crop does help.
Harold, it still does. But as this is OOTB forum, I guess the rules are flexible. My purpose of using backlight in this case was to try to get the light coming through the blurred motion. My original choice of the the image with the lines in the bg did not work out well enough.
Neat Indranil, I like your second post with the tighter crop. I am liking your bird blurs. Where did you take this?
