John James has been a favourite of mine. I thought I will try one of his style. Here is a shot I had taken few months back near Klamath NWR. Just used a dry brush filter to get a bit of the effect. Hope you like it...

I can see the style Indranil. Well done mate. It's ironic that when I looked him Up as I had no clue (sorry friends) who this person was, he was an ornithologist and hunter?
Thanks for sharing!
Indranil, Very well done!! I like that you have some details in your blacks, might need a round of sharpening and the BG is to die for!!! The inclusion of the #'s and the black lettering-I feel you nailed this one BIG TIME!!!
Nice job.
If I can make a suggestion on the frame. Like it, but appears you painted the line on, like I use to. I found an easier way to make the frame, using the resize canvas under the image pull down in Elements or PS. Set the color to what you want and then just specify the width of the frame, in the width and height boxes. The canvas will be increased the specified width with the specified color. Lot easier and cleaner than drawing it. ;)
Akos, Denise, thanks a lot for the kind words. I almost decided to remove the background to give a feel of sketch book paper but then decided on keeping it. I will repost with usm.
Mark, many thanks for the feedback. The canvas is extended that way. Only the left margin is drawn to represent a page torn from the sketch book and placed on a black plate.
repost with another round of usm...
Indranil, The image looks better
Hmmmm, I was surprised not to see Audubon, here :)
You did very well, and thanks for bringing him up.
Nicely done with the page presentation...I like it...
Indranil, I like the repost much better. I'm glad you included an Audubon:)

Nice job Indranil! Audubon is my inspiration! If this were an Audubon however, the bird would look distorted as he shot the birds, then using wires inside the carcass, set the bird in the position that he wanted and illustrated it as he saw it, hence the distorted bodies in many of his pieces. Maybe you could use the "liquify" filter and pull the bird a bit to distort it:eek:.
Thank you, Dan. That's a great suggestion using liquefy. I will try it out and post another version...
